Silhouette Shaping -- The Women's Runway Analysis of Jil Sander
In the Jil Sander 2024 autumn/winter collection, Luke and Lucie Meier break away from the previous sharp concept, soften the lines and contours of the clothing, and use [silhouette shaping] as the keyword of this season, emphasizing the sense of coverage in the shoulder and sleeve design of suits, jackets, and cloaks. Quilted, tassels, lace hollowed out, sequins, jacquard patterns and other palace style decorations break the traditional minimalist style and add a touch of fun to clothing. This season deviates from Jil Sander's iconic minimalism of the 1990s and instead chooses curves and smooth lines that run through the entire process. The trendy set with vibrant hues such as red, celadon green, and purple brown sets the tone, creating a sharp contrast with other dark neutral colors. This series deviates from Jil Sander's iconic minimalism of the 1990s and instead chooses curves and smooth lines that run through the entire collection. The trendy sets with vibrant hues such as red, celadon green, and chocolate brown set the tone, contrasting sharply with the gloomy tones popular elsewhere. The cape coat with an infinite hem further emphasizes the theme of softness and envelopment.

Minimalism -- The Analysis of Jil Sander The Luxury Womenswear Brand
Jil Sander A/W 2022 collection continued the minimalist aesthetic. Basic colorless tones and beige were joined by trending yellow and military green. High-end fine wool and silk tried to provide a modernized wardrobe for women. For S/S 2022, Lucie and Luke Meier opted for lighter colors and looser fits to pursue the pure luxury and warmth.

Balanced Minimalism -- The Womenswear Runway Analysis of Jil Sander
Known as ‘the Queen of Less’, Jil Sander continues the focus on developing clothes for middle and upper class women. “We were thinking about elegance,” Lucie said. “We really wanted to focus on sculptural tailoring, almost couture-like, but we like this new energy, a very cropped silhouette.” Come fall the Jil Sander woman will be wearing a wool skirt suit, its jacket sculpted with an hourglass volume and the skirt just peeking out from beneath its hem, or a slightly longer, flippier skirt with a cape-like jacket. The Meiers have made handcrafts—macramé, crochet, and the like—an essential part of their Jil Sander aesthetic.

Minimalist Beauty -- The Womenswear Runway Analysis of Jil Sander
Known for the minimalist aesthetics and simple lines, the designer of Jil Sander gets rid of all the extra details, even zippers and buttons. Crinkled textures wrap the body, and the diagonal tailoring underlines the natural drapability. Lucie and Luke Meier had a baby girl in June, which allowed the designer to integrate the vision of wonderful future into the minimalism to express the personal emotions. Therefore, Lucie and Luke applied brighter colors and looser tailoring in S/S 2022 to pursue the pure high quality and inject the warm mood.

Fashion & Art -- The Womenswear Runway Analysis of Jil Sander
The Resort 2022 collection of Jil Sander was released on July 16, which told us a dialogue between fashion and art. This collection was about individuality and uniqueness of person, and "joy" is the mood it expressed. "In everything artistic there should be something functional, and it has to be at the service of the person," said Lucie Meier, "the ideas and philosophy behind the Bauhaus movement became relevant references for us." Each piece was given an individual character, in a sort of syncopated yet quite cohesive narrative. What tied the eclectic offering together was a sense of soft playfulness, smoothing the edges of sculptural silhouettes inspired by the graphic lines of Oskar Schlemmer's Triadic Ballet costumes. Undulating ruffles, fringed tassels, feathers, studwork, and statement jewelry gave grace to neat, elegant shapes. A dramatic sleeveless black-top-and-round-skirt ensemble in guipure lace, a chic strapless trapeze dress in off-white silk gazar, and a sleek pantsuit with a detachable round capelet also in silk gazar—one of the collection's main fabrics. And the slim leather overcoat was printed with a figurative motif of dancing women, painted by an illustrator friend.

Accelerate Simplification -- The Catwalk Analysis of Jil Sander Womenswear
Simplification is the core of Jil Sander's design in 2021 early autumn. This style well fits the current uncertain period and ingeniously integrates contrastive elements to present liveliness in the delicate minimalist style. During the quarantine this year, the designer Luke Meier expects to show more indoor feeling and bring warmth to the life. This season's products use concise visual language to accurately send out the inspiration and brand inspirit. Soft woolen knitting and stiff suits fabric are applied as textures. Decorations and ornaments like jewelry buttons capture the modern quintessence. The most eye-catchy scarf turndown embraces the real contemporary silhouette and texture. The relaxing practicality and stylish angular tailoring show extreme elegance. The LOOKBOOK this season was shot in an apartment, and this modern space also reflect the delicate minimalism of brand.

Minimalist and Young -- The Catwalk Analysis of Jil Sander Womenswear
Jil Sander is the representative brand of minimalism, founded by a German designer and later merged by Prada. In 2017, Luke and Lucie Meier took over Jil Sander as creative directors. Luke Meier, who worked eight years as the chief designer of Supreme, has a background in street fashion that makes up for years of Jil Sander's neglect of the youth market. Lucie Meier has worked at haute couture brands like Dior, Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga, helping to keep the simple and elegant style of Jil Sander. Its S/S 2021 womenswear continues the fine and delicate DNA, employs cotton, recycled polyester and mulberry silk, and accentuates female graceful form via embroideries, creating simple yet ethereal looks.

Minimalist yet Luxurious -- Collection of Minimalist Style Brands
The minimalist style focuses on both simplicity and practicality, more in line with life needs in this quick-paced society. Minimalist Beauty of Purity -- The Catwalk Analysis of Jil Sander Womenswear
After the "unity of opposites" of S/S 2020 Jil Sander, this season the couple, Lucie and Luke Meier, brings the minimalist beauty of purity. The couple knows models can not fully display the emotion and temperament of clothing by just walking around the catwalk, so they put chairs in the center of the stage for models to sit down. The unique design endows the show with a different emotion. The noble feeling also brings a dramatic moment.
