During the new season Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, 32 brands released their latest haute couture collections. Schiaparelli remained the opening brand, presenting the audience with a visually stunning feast of ultra-sensory aesthetics, while the finale show was by French fashion designer Adeline André. Additionally, Thom Browne made his debut in Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, showcasing an extravagant and bizarre haute couture premiere. Of course, there were also the whimsically deconstructed Viktor&Rolf and Giambattista Valli, who is loved by female celebrities on the red carpet.

The current season's New York & Barcelona Bridal Week featured over 30 domestic and international designers showcasing their 2024 new collections at the fashion shows, attracting exhibitors and buyers from up to 90 countries. As a major trend, many brands have started adopting separates bridal gowns, choosing sparkling and iridescent fabrics, paired with embroidery, beading, and three-dimensional decorative elements, to create more handmade and personalized bridal collections. Many collections draw inspiration from nature, with floral patterns being predominant.

This report puts emphasis on the application of patterns on womenswear runways. Based on the comparison between S/S 2022 and S/S 2023, Flowers & Plants and Checks & Stripes are still the hottest elements. Leopard spots, zebra stripes and python motifs are presented in bolder colors. Ethnic motifs and scenery paintings are trending upward. The share of Chinoiserie elements is also rising.
