The independent designer brand XUNRUO was founded in China in 2011 by the twin designers Chen Dan and Chen Ying, who have been released their works on the fashion weeks in New York, Milan, Shanghai, and Dubai. Its retro romantic design style has attracted many first-class celebrities, fashion magazines, and medias. A/W 21/22 collection The Day When I Became A Butterfly is inspired by the Butterfly Lovers(a Chinese legend). Butterfly element is used widely to continue the retro and romantic style of XUNRUO. Colors of traditional pastel porcelain start a conversation between modern skills and traditional aesthetics. Retro elements like handmade embroidery, bishop sleeve and ruffle are combined with modern minimalist tailoring to interpret the retro and romantic style.
