Sacai took its fall collection back to the Paris Fashion Week. The passionate red celebrated the return. Love, fidelity and friendship are the values that at the heart of Sacai. Designer Chitose Abe followed the principles and continued her exploration of silhouettes. Opened by a piece of dress, this physical show of bold silhouettes presented a sense of dignity through vests and ball dresses. A trenchcoat came with a bustle back, while oversize down jackets had an extra layer that created the illusion of a below-the-shoulder pouf dress, establishing a brand-new connection between traditional menswear and womenswear.

Many fashion brands are looking for different ways to display their fashion series in face of the special condition this year. Sacai has always held fashion shows in Paris. However, the founder and creative director Chitose Abe decides to hold a physical fashion show in Japan and choose her favorite Enoura Observatory of the Odawara Art Foundation as the exhibition place. The key to S/S 2021 series is undoubtedly to present the original genes of the brand again and to remix materials used in previous series. Chitose specially introduces the fringed skirt made of trench coat materials and T-shirt with portrait of legendary British singer Sade printed on it. The fashion show will be filmed by fashion photographer Albert Watson, and the background music will be Sade's classic song Kiss of Life.

In the whole A/W 2020 series of Sacai, the theme of "Universe" is not only the open-and-shut starry sky. They choose four from the thousands of images provided by NASA as the inspiration, so in this season we can see the brand turns space into beautiful fashion with the deconstruction design it has always followed. Inspired by the special issue of 2015 NASA, it works with fabric designer Alexander Girard to create a star map made up of mobile phones, letters and numbers. And the lower left corner which was to mark "Alien" presents "SACAI" now. Representative deconstruction and reorganization are used. The key design is combining light silk with high-tech fabric. Different items are combined to create a new silhouette which highlights the ethereal feel. But it doesn't blindly use lightweight fabrics. Instead, it makes use of the balance of fabric combination to design.

The core words for Sacai in this season are layers, asymmetry and splicing. Designer Chitose Abe plays with volume and proportion based on utility. Abe said the inspiration of this collection came from when she was a child. At that time, she liked to dress up. Prints are key as well and Abe got inspired from Jackson Pollock's paintings.
