During the new season Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, 32 brands released their latest haute couture collections. Schiaparelli remained the opening brand, presenting the audience with a visually stunning feast of ultra-sensory aesthetics, while the finale show was by French fashion designer Adeline André. Additionally, Thom Browne made his debut in Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, showcasing an extravagant and bizarre haute couture premiere. Of course, there were also the whimsically deconstructed Viktor&Rolf and Giambattista Valli, who is loved by female celebrities on the red carpet.

The concept of haute couture evolves with the times and does not truly belong to any specific era. The Giambattista Valli 2023 Autumn/Winter haute couture collection for this season takes place in a monochromatic room filled with rose petals, embarking on a romantic and sweet dreamy journey to celebrate "classic modernity." Layered sheers, ethereal feather fringes, exquisite beaded lace, and luxurious satin skirts infuse modernity into classicism. Returning to the essence of craftsmanship, mastering complex techniques to achieve new weightless volumes or surpassing the boundaries of structure allows each garment to express its own personality and uniqueness.

It’s Paris Couture Week, and as expected, the highly-lauded occasion commenced with Daniel Roseberry presenting his latest surreal statement for the House of Schiaparelli. Roseberry debuted 30 looks each centered around themes of true art. International Klein Blue, first mixed by the French artist Yves Klein, came within a collection featuring painted models and allusions to Alberto Giacometti’s sculptures, standing tall and ethereal. Black diamond embellishments formed trompe-l’œil sculptures of Venetian statues on a cream coat, with its darts, pleats, and collar all echoing the gravitas of a marble figure.

Christian Dior’s A/W 22/23 ready-to-wear collection was released in a gallery with walls of historical portraits. A wired woman with her bodysuit outlined in fluorescent green started the show and brought out the theme – ‘The Next Era’. The creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri tried to express the complexity of fashion, review the tradition, and interpret the signature architectural silhouettes from an innovative perspective, nodding to the feminine power. Besides, Dior cooperated with D-AIR Lab to combine practical crafts with high technologies to create futuristic pieces and redefine creativity and functionalism. Classic Bar Jacket was joined by temperature-controlling system to launch a conversation between classics and technologies.

Dior A/W 21/22 Couture Collection was released on July 5 in Paris, which was presented by the creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri and French artist Eva Jospin. The work Chambre de Soie, created by French artist Eva Jospin, provides a backdrop for the show, with lifesize embroideries displayed on the walls recalling the Indian-inspired Salle aux Broderies in the Colonna Palace in Rome. Forest, vine, rock and waterfall create imaginative and twisted scenes. The combination of lively embroidery and haute couture gown is shown on this amazing runway. The materiality of fabric becomes form, while the subversive language of embroidery is expressed in a project that becomes a performance. An energy resembling poetic pleasure, at the intersection of style, movement and attitude. Through textile research, a series of pieces, featuring an assortment of checks, tweeds, textures and different dimensions in black and white. This creation serves as a precious décor for presenting dresses with magnificent pleats, trains, and hand-woven chains that compose patterns on the body, in colors dear to Monsieur Dior, such as powder blue or nude. The singular context reinterprets the meaning of embroidery, and salutes to the exquisite craftsmanship and couture spirit of Dior.

A/W 21/22 Christian Dior womenswear collection was released in the Hall of Mirrors at Versaille, Paris. The creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri chooses a territory where the time-space dimension is erased. Inspired by the The Bloody Chamber collection, published in 1979 by Gollancz, director explores the fairy tales and interprets the confident and fearless contemporary women image through her extraordinary perspective. Chiuri lined the hall with artworks by the Italian artist Silvia Giambrone, creating a fantastic fairy tale in the legendary Hall of Mirrors. The tale is hardly just a means of escape: it serves to challenge and revisit stereotypes and archetypes. It consists of a narrative projected into the future. The toy soldier's uniform, shimmering lamé and Lurex jacquards and evening gowns are fit for princesses. A new self-awareness, born of a feminine sensibility that knows how to blend memories of the past and maturity, as if by magic.

S/S 2021 kidswear catwalks attract many international kidswear brands (BOY LONDON JUNIOR, GAP and The Children's Place), Chinese kidswear brands (Balabala, gxg.kids, MQD and COCOTREE), Chinese independent designer brands MINGCHENGZI and Little Naive, Chinese high-end gown brands PureShare and FLOWER NINE.

Valentino merges its S/S 2021 menswear and womenswear show in a strongly industrial space which is surrounded by plants and flowers, quite romantic. This season Pierpaolo Piccioli wants to convey that the distinct values are the essence of supporting and shaping the brand image, just like industrial architectures, while the aesthetic is only the medium that penetrates everything, just like the flowers and plants that decorate the interior. This time VALENTINO applies intense colors to display its symbolic roses on the invitation. With a core of romanticism, the streamlined or the simple style, chiffon shirts, jeans with five pockets, loose blazers, and the ethereal evening dress all reflect advanced and exquisite cutting in details. Retro prints inject vitality and romance. This series feel warm and cold, romantic and realistic.

In April, Marchesa's S/S 2020 collection was released in the wedding dress week in Barcelona. Designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig showed us a dreamy and delicate wedding dress show. This new collection is romantic and ornate. Understated and impressive looks are underlined. Complicated and delicate embroideries interpret feminine qualities. Marchesa's iconic 3D florals are much lighter. Crystal embroideries and layered sheers add an elevated edge. Detachable parts are designed to provide more options. Short wedding dresses and colored ones follow the trend.

Reem Acra's wedding dresses are always creative. The theme is Garden, showing softness.

Ziad Nakad's haute couture dresses are charming and impressive. There are aesthetic collection, goddess collection and floral collection.

Elie Saab's 2019 S/S collection in Paris Couture Week is romantic and impressive. Irregular-shaped sequins on high-split yarn-mixed dresses and flowing chiffon dresses are like stars. Neat suits are of British style. Colors of spring and summer like red, blue green and beige decorate the whole collection. Luxury champagne and elegant royal blue are refreshing. Complicated embroideries and subtle pleats are used a lot. Large hem is appealing. 3D flowers are interesting; metal accessories are eye-catching.

The Pre-Fall 2019 collection of Gucci is inspired by 80s styles. Sumptuous, intricate and refined details are key. The interactive campaign is full of interest. Some models are eating French fries, cakes or drinking coke. The playful lookbook is in line with the taste of young customers.
