Walking in the Wheat Field -- The Catwalk Analysis of Jacquemus Menswear
With a theme of L'amour, Jacquemus S/S 2021 series is launched in a wheat field in the northwest of Paris. The series takes cues from the dance aesthetics of Swedish dancer Alexander Ekman, and uses neutrals like black, white, khaki and grass as dominant colors. It continues the lethargic Southern France feel. Simon Porte Jacquemus believes that no online video can replace the runway show, because it is the core of fashion. "Just like a reopened restaurant, life has to move on for all of us."
Le Coup De Soleil -- Jacquemus The Womenswear Designer Brand
After many years at Comme des Garcons, Simon Porte Jacqumus, a designer from Southern France, starts his own brand Jacquemus in 2009. In 2012 he was the youngest designer at Paris Fashion Week at that time, and became famous in the fashion world for his quirky designs in just two years. Jacqumus is the young version of Comme des Garcons and Martin Margiela. Strange silhouettes, spliced fabrics, color-blocking and geometric patterns characterize this brand. This series has a name of Le Coup De Soleil. The overall design style matches the sunny Provence perfectly.
